People

Jeremy & Emily  Weber, along with Samuel Pratt  envisioned an old time movie theatre with a hometown feeling, They promote a superior, yet affordable, movie experience like the old days, with modern amenities and quality service.

Progress

The Weber’s and Samuel Pratt  requested a loan for  $271,000.  The Progress fund loaned $171,000 and  arranged a  $100,000 loan from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under The First Industries Tourism Loan Program. They used the loans  to purchase the existing movie theatre and make minor improvements  to the theatre,  located in downtown Bedford. The Progress Fund later provided a loan of $218,000 for theatre renovations and equipment.

Impact

The Pitt Theatre was built in 1939 in Downtown Bedford which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As PA’s longest continually running movie theatre,  there aren’t many theater’s left like the Pitt!!
