We want to give a big shout out to Nate Morgan and his partners, who were awarded “Best of Choice” hotel in 2026 for their Comfort Inn located along the Great Allegheny Passage in Connellsville.
The Great Allegheny Passage cuts straight through Connellsville, which makes it a perfect overnight stop for the thousands of bicyclers rolling through, but ten years ago no hotel existed.
Nate was one of the original partners that put together a financing package that included The Progress Fund, for the construction of the then Cobblestone Hotel in 2015.
As things go, Nate found new partners, took over the hotel and rebranded it as a Comfort Inn. Under the new flag, the hotel has become a critical link in places along the GAP and as an economic driver for Connellsville.
We are proud of our early role in the construction of this hotel, and as a lender to other overnight accommodations in Nate’s portfolio.
