John Meeder, Sam Wilsker, Lori Herr, and John Thomas love Lancaster, PA and wanted others visiting their city to experience the true flavors, cultural depth and feel of Lancaster. They all agreed that a locally owned and operated hotel with a devoted focus on local life in Lancaster was the spirit they wanted to infuse into Hotel Lancaster. Initially, they leased and managed the hotel, while making improvements, but their goal was to purchase the hotel and continue renovating the property.


With financing from The Progress Fund, The Reinvestment Fund, and Community First Fund, the devoted team members were able to purchase the Hotel Lancaster and continue improving it to make it their own.


Hotel Lancaster’s location in downtown Lancaster offers guests the ideal blend of history, stunning architecture, hip excitement, awesome art galleries and tons of ethnic culture.  Lancaster is more than Amish, fresh produce and inspirational theaters; it’s a fantastic, walkable and enjoyable city. Some popular attractions in Lancaster include the Central Market, Fulton Opera House, and Lancaster Barnstormers.
