Washington native Shawn Janovich had worked in bar restaurants for 20 years and owned and operated Pregame, a successful bar in Pittsburgh’s Southside. But he dreamed of building his own upscale gastropub restaurant from scratch, so he set out to achieve his dream along with his business partner, Will Wilson, an expert in craft beer.


Shawn found the perfect location and tackled the permitting, licensing, contracting, purchasing and construction tasks to get Bacon, Bourbon & Beer up and running. The Progress Fund loaned $100,000 so that Shawn could purchase equipment and inventory, and have plenty of working capital for a successful launch. With 30 varieties of bourbon and 28 beers on tap, quality food and ample seating, Bacon, Bourbon & Beer is the dining destination of choice for bacon lovers looking for the region’s largest craft beer and bourbon selections. “I’d like to eventually have 40 to 50 bourbons. The nation has a bourbon shortage right now, ” says Shawn.


Bacon, Bourbon & Beer, also known as B³, has become a popular attraction for residents and visitors to the Meadows Casino and Racetrack and Tanger Outlet Mall. B³’s casual classy atmosphere and friendly staff of 15 provide the perfect venue to enjoy conversations with friends and family while enjoying a great meal and your craft beer or bourbon of choice. “I think our food is excellent. I’m not tired of eating it yet. I think we’ll have the best burger in town,” says Shawn.
